SUSE ethX-wlan

Hi,
I've installed Suse 9.0 and my wireless PCMCIA card ... that Suse call wlan0 instead ethX ... the problem is that under Yast when I try to setup DSL connection ... it show me only ethX device and NOT wlanX ... How I do that ? How I can use wlan device to connect my access point ?

Thanks a lot.
Andrea

WLAN to access point should be just a question of setting the wireless options on the YaST
network device screen.
It is sometimes easier to manually set ESSID and WEP key via iwconfig 1st and then
go back and add to GUI.
It is possible that once wlan0 link is up it will be offered for the DSL connection
(don't know about that side of things my boradband is wireless too.)

WLAN DSL

I've not problem to set up wlan0 via Yast screen ... this it's OK and work fine .... but when I try just to set up DSL connection via Yast screen isn't possible to chose WLAN0 (only ethX).... so I tried to made it with ethX and then replace manually into ifcfg-dsl the device ... but when I start DSL it tell me ... "device not recognized" .... I don't know ... it's incredible how with any other distribution this is very easier ...

YaST's DSL stuff is (presumably) for a DSL modem connected to the wired port.

If you have a DSL router which is also a wireless access point then I would expect you
to talk to the router via a "web" interface.
(e.g. I configure my Belkin AP via

mozilla http://192.168.0.42

where 192.168.0.42 is IP address DHCP assigned to the AP.

My old 3Com ISDN router was same sort of idea.

)

Perhaps if you explained how your network(s) are arranged I/we could guess better.
