strange wireless problem...

I don't know if I'm missing something stupid, but I'm having trouble with my wireless connection, and I'm officially out of ideas.

I have a Compaq R3000Z laptop, AMD64, FC3 kernel 2.6.10-1.20_FC3 x86_ 64, integrated Broadcom wireless.

The problem is that I can't get outside my network for anything. I can ping the router and any other box on the network, but I can't ping any websites. This includes pinging by IP address, so it's not a DNS problem.

I've opened up the network as much as possible in order to reduce the number of possible problems until I can get this solved. DHCP is enabled on the AP/router combo, all encryption and MAC filtering turned off. I'm dual-booting with XP, and the XP side has full access. FC3 has access on eth0 when I'm plugged in to the router.

Config all looks normal, ndiswrapper is loading correctly, and as I said, I can ping any LAN box. But pinging outside gives me nothing.

Could I be missing something? I've had this working in the past on FC3, but I recently reformatted/reinstalled, and I haven't been able to get it to work since.

Thanks,
Jeff

Sounds like you're missing default gateway and/or DNS server info. Don't know what tool FC uses, but Red Hat had one called "neat." Run as root to get a UI for entering DNS and gateway info into the network interface script.

Thanks for the reply!

The network is set up with DHCP enabled, and DNS/Default Gateway info should be populated automatically, as it is on the XP side. The DNS info is automatically populated -- I can see that much in the network config panel. The correct values show up there. And I can get to the outside world on eth0 without having to enter a default gateway, so I think that's done automatically as well.

It doesn't seem to be a DNS issue since I can't even ping the DNS servers by IP. Only LAN IP's respond to ping.
