Something wrong with my Wireless Router

Hello..

Greeting everyone...

I don't know whats wrong with my wireless router. I've been using for less than 2 months. And this never happened. Yesterday, my wireless connection stated "no connectivity or limited bla bla bla..." (something like that. I can't remember because now i'm using my friends computer. I can't connect to the internet completely. Even when i use the modem only, instead of using wireless.

Ok, what i noticed at my wireless router, the light for the "wlan-g" does not on.

I can connect the RaLink Utility, but my wireless can't connect.

What might go wrong?

try doing a full reset of the router. without knowing the model i cant tell you exactly how to do it. Try holding the reset button in for 30 seconds or so. This will reset all setting etc. so there will be no encryption or anything. Could also try searching for newer router firmware. If you can post your router model i can try to help you find it.

oh sorry.. ok, its Edimax brand, model: BR-6114Wg

I've tried to reset, but i only hold it for 10 secs.
Result: The wlan-g doesn't blink.

Firmware: Well i did download the latest firmware from their own website last month.

Ok, hope you can help me solve the problem. i do appreciate. :)

do you know what the local IP address of the router is. If you do type it in to the address bar in your browser and make sure there is no encryption and other things like that. Also see if you can get access to a friends router or something. Check to make sure that the computer is able to access the router because the wlan-g light might not be blinking just because no computers are using the wlan connection. Also try the reset again for 30 seconds. You want to make sure everything is reset. I had a similar problem with a clients computer (windows) and i reset the router several times. Eventually the resetting worked. I am not sure what was wrong with my previous resets so make sure you hold for long enough.

ok.... i try it after i get back from work.. if i don't reply within this 2 days, meaning i'm still having the problem..

about getting access from my friend's router, i don't think i can do that. Cos none of my friends are using wireless.

The Ralink Utility can connect, but not the wireless network.

Ok, i will inform here again whats the result.

well, erm.. i'm using windows acutally..

hello..... im back!

well, thru my modem actually.

ok, i tried to reset for 30secs.
Result: Still NO (no light, no blinking)

do you think something wrong with my wireless router? I've tried plug on & off, switch off the whole thing, including my computer.
Result: Still no

Any suggestion?

Try typing 192.168.2.1 into browser - that should bring up configuration pages.

ok... i have done that, with the wireless router connected. Yes, i manage to open the configuration pages. But strange, they didn't asked me to type my admin password.
i check online status, well, my MAC ip is there, meaning i'm connected to the wireless.

Then i try to open the website, still i can't open due to no connection (of course because my wireless stated "limited or no connectivity").

I can't even reset my router.

So i bring to the shop where i bought it, and when they tried to reset, few seconds the wlan-g blink and yes, there's the light.

When i tried it at home AGAIN, well, back to square one. Just like before i brought it to the shop.

Well, i call up the guy at the shop, he ask me to do this and that. I did, but the result still NONE.

So, he told me, the only solution is to configure the network using network key (something like that).

And they need to use the cable directly to the computer in order to configure it.

Do you think its appropriate?

Actually i don't really get what this guy mean, where he seems don't want to explain it to me.

What seems to be the problem? I really don't have any idea what's wrong with it.
