Slackware Iwconfig questions.
When in Slackware I do an iwconfig on wlan0, I get the follwoing:

IEEE 802.11abgn ESSID: off/any
Mode:Managed access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=0 dBm
Retry long limit:7 RTS thr: off Fragment thr: off
Encryption key: off
Power Management: off

I can't find any utility in KDE which allows me to connect to a wireless network. Do I need to download one separately? If I'm following this correctly, my wifi drivers have been detected, but I just need an actual utility to connect to a network, yes?

Running a Gateway laptop, of the NV57H model.

You could do it manually:

An easier, however, option would be to install a network manager (wicd) from /extra.

Where is extra, exactly?

/extra is a directory (on your Slackware installation DVD or an online mirror) holding some 'extra' packages that didn't make it to be a part of the core Slackware package suit.

This is /extra for Slackware64 13.37
