slackware 10.1 wlan

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
hi
i am currently trying to setup a wireless lan with my slackware 10.1 installation. i believe everything is setup correctly, all the compatible ndiswrapper drivers installed. i can connect to my network, however i cannot connect to the internet. I can ping other computers on my network, and i can get an ip by typing ifconfig wlan0 192.168.0.2 up but thats all.
I think this will help

root@TheCupboard:~# ifconfig
lo Link encap:Local Loopback

root@TheCupboard:~# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

I used the slackware netconfig in order to put my network details in, including my dns server, but it just doesnt seem to want to connect.
btw im using the netgear wg311v2, which i think is renowned for being hard to set up on linux.

thanks in advance

It's worthwhile to check out the HCL page for this card:

It looks like v.2 certainly has some issues though
