Router cant see one partition, but can see another

Hi all,
I originally posted this in slackware, but i think it's more to do with how the router talks to my laptop. Although i'm not sure to be honest.

Here's the post:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...option-763918/

Basically, when I boot into ubuntu on my laptop it sees and connects to my router no problem. However, when I boot into my slackware partition (on the same laptop) it doesnt even SEE my router. I use WICD on slackware which gives me a list of all wireless devices in the area. My essid is simply not in the list.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,
mute
