RH 9.0 Network Settings utility not working with atmel wlan driver installed

I've had this problem everytime I've tried. I just got tired of the problems so I've just done a fresh install of RH 9.0. Now I want to find out if there is a way to use my Atmel RFMD503a based USB wireless network adapter (Linksys WUSB11 V2.6) without loosing the network settings in RH.

Also if there is a way to prevent RH from dying if the thing is unplugged improperly, I'd really like to find out how thats done.

Finally if there is a way to make the adapter work right after restarting from Windows XP to RH without having to replug it at the exact right time (or else the startup sequence crashes, either from unplugging at the wrong time, or leaving it plugged in). Its very annoying when it takes 2 to 3 restarts just to get Linux running because the adapter is causing something to go wrong.

Thanks,

Maybe a fix

Not sure if this will help, but I found a step in a "How To" (link below) that mentioned modifying the /etc/modules.conf file to include alias usb-controller uhci versus alias usb-controller usb-uhci. This seemed to help some strange things on my system.
