Question Problem with PCMCIA wireless lan card

hi all,
i've got a toshiba wireless lan PCMCIA card on my toshiba satellite2430,
when i was working on my old kernel "2.4.26" ,kernel recognized it upon startup (beeps and lights up).
after i compiled my new kernel "2.6.9" with enabling PCMCIA of course , the new kernel does't recognize it (no beep or lights @ startup).

after nights of searching i reached a possible solution for my problem which i found in slackware
book, it says
"Unfortunately, if you compile a newer kernel version you will probably have to recompile pcmcia-cs to get the drivers updated. Of course, the source is included; check the source/a/pcmcia directory for source, scripts, and any documentation we have to help you with that"

any one can explain how to do this , or find a solution i'd be so glad.
i'am working on Slackware 10.0 with new kernel 2.6.9.

thanx in advance.

I think there are 4 slackware disks and disks 3 & 4 are the "source disks." So pop those in and go to the specified directory and find/compile the source. Alternatively, you can go to the pcmcia-cs website and get the appropriate source. If you don't know how to compile, let us know.

Did you also do a "make install"? If so, try a modprobe pcmcia-cs (at least I think that's the module--I've never used it).

i found out the solution

the whole problem was about the order of scripts that run @ startup
(pcmcia mgr, dhcpcd,wireless lan mgr).
now i just type "dhcpcd eth1" and it works fine.
thanx 4 anyone who tried to help.
