Not hard at all depending on what wireless card you purchase. Some are more of a hassle than others.

I use a Netgear MA401RA. It works but required a few quick hacks. Nothing to write home about though.

Here is our house network. Generic Surfboard modem to a D-Link Costco special wireless router. 2 XP boxes and a Win 98 box box plugged in and me on RH 8.0 laptop.

Took about 5 minutes to set up.

Wireless was never easier for me than with RH 9.0. I suggest a couple of things:
Grab the latest orinoco_cs driver from David Gibson's site, which is now 0.13e.
Use the orinoco_cs driver for either ORiNOCO or Prism cards.
Using "neat," the RH tool for network configuration, the entering of wireless parameters is quite straight-forward. If you want to manually enter things like WEP and ESSID, edit /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethx where x is the number of your adapter.
