pppoe connect to wireless AP - issues

I'm thinking of setting up a server (in a back room somewhere).. Linux is of course my preferred OS (no preference on distro as yet).

I need to have it connected to a wireless access point (and planning to do so via ethernet cable). I'll then have hosts (physically removed) connecting to that AP (probably using winXP)...

ie,
Server --etho-->[802.11g router]<--802.11g-- winXP

Is there any distro that this would be easier with or any gotcha's that should be planned for?

Advice greatly appreciated... /paul

As far as you are connecting your server to AP via ethernet, I hope any distro will work fine.

But instead of Server --etho-->[802.11g router]<--802.11g-- winXP
if you are using Server --etho-->[802.11g router]<--802.11g-- Linux (Kanotix R3)

Then I will suggest Kanotix R3. They have good support for NdisWrapper. Or any Debian based distro will be better.

Remember Fedora and NdisWrapper is not a very good match.

Your best bet would be Debian based distro, no setup required apart from pppoed installed (apt-get install pppoed), with accounts setup, and iptables doing its work, forwarding packets from the wireless network out to the net and vice versa.
