Hello and welcome to LinuxQuestions,

When you have a question or are confronting a problem it's always in your own best interest to post as much information as possible. You only posted output from 'a' command. What command was that? I can only assume looking at the output that you're trying to install NS 2.34. Also the least information you could provide is what distro and version you're installing that on. Furthermore, the error seems quite clear to me:
Quote:
couldn't read file ":/opt/ns-allinone-2.34/ns-2.34/mit/rca:/opt/ns-allinone-2.34/ns-2.34/mit/rca/ns-ranode.tcl": no such file or directory
You're missing a file.

Are you following some kind of guide you've found on the internet? If so, which one? Last but not least, if you're posting code, that is, output from a command, for readability please put it between code tags (the # sign when in the full editor).

Looking forward to your participation in the forums. Have fun with Linux.

Kind regards,

Eric

Post #1 is about LEACH in ns-allinone-2.34 .

Please edit post # 1 to use code tags.

Suggest : Setup ns-allinone-2.34 in /home/<user-name>/ns-allinone-2.34/,
and use the script "leach-HOME-setup234.sh".
Then you will be sure that all files are in place :

A required file cmu-trace.h (edited) is included in that thread too.
