PCMCIA wpc11 sees network but will not connect ...can anyone help?

Wireless PCMCIA card problem...

I am trying to use a Linksys WPC11 ver 3.0 PMCIA card, on a Compaq NX9005 running SuSE 9.1.
I can find the wireless network (kwifimanager shows that there is a good signal, on the right channel and connecting to WLAN which is the correct ESSID) but I cannot connect. I have the correct WEP key (in ifcfg-wlan-bus-pcmcia). The Access point shows all zeroes, despite having entered this through Yast, and checking to see it has appeared in ifcfg-wlan-bus-pcmcia. No IP address is given.

Can anyone advise me on what I can do to track down the problem? It seems that the wireless card is functioning correctly.

/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlan-bus-pcmcia
BOOTPROTO='dhcp'

REMOTE_IPADDR=''

WIRELESS_KEY_LENGTH='128'
WIRELESS_MODE='Managed'
WIRELESS_NICK=''
WIRELESS_NWID=''

I think the problem is that your card is using IPv6 and your router is trying to give it an IPv4 address. I don't know much about the whole v4/v6 thing but it's a start. This might help you out: http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Linux+IPv6-HOWTO/

Thanks for the reply. I checked the /var/log/messages and found
kernel: wlan0: no IPv6 routers present
..so maybe this is the problem. But so far I have found nothing that helps to solve it. I'll keep on Googling.

However, I did also find this in the /var/log/messages:
kernel: dot11req_reset: the macaddress and setdefaultmib arguments are currently unsupported.

Not sure what this means
