pcmcia wireless 802.11b card that can be put into master mode
 

I'm looking to build a linux wireless access point and I want to use a pcmcia wireless card. I want a wireless card that can be put into master mode and one that I can put an external antenna on. Any suggestions? I'm most likely going to be using a cut-down version of slackware for the operating system. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

what about the 3com officeconnect wireless 11g PC-Card?
 

I looked on that site, but it doesn't say whether or not the cards listed are able to be put into master mode. Is the 3com officeconnect wireless 11g PC-Card Product # 3CRWE154G72 able to be put into master mode? Thanks for the link... very useful.

For each of the wireless drivers listed, the supported modes are shown on the link. Not sure what chipset is for the card you mentioned, but if it used the MadWiFi driver, for example, this is the info listed on Jean's site:
