pcmcia-cs -> wlan-ng -> nothing

Hi,
I'm trying to install my Linksys WPC11 wireless-b card on SuSE 9.1 Pro but am having difficulty. I installed pcmcia-cs-3.2.8 as dictated but the PCMCIA-HOWTO tutorial and followed the tutorial to install linux-wlan-ng-0.1.14-pre1 but got somewhat hungup. I installed the package but then it says for PCMCIA users to edit /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.opts to configure the settings but /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.opts does not exist. It also says after I've done this to restart ./pcmcia with /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia restart but this path isn't valid. There is a ./pcmcia executable under both /etc/rc.d/ and etc/init.d but not etc/rc.d/init.d. Although I don't think this has much to do with my problem. When I run ifconfig I get:

lo Link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
RX packets:353 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:353 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:77728 (75.9 Kb) TX bytes:77728 (75.9 Kb)

and with iwconfig I get:

lo no wireless extensions.

sit0 no wireless extensions.

I just include this as I've seen in some other threads people requesting this information. So yeah, I'm pretty lost and would really appreciate any assistance in pointing me in the proper direction.
