You have my deepest sympathies.

... wireless uses ipw3945 driver. Assuming an intel card.

It is likely that sabayon has a pre-configured file for this.
Curious though, I thought these were in the kernel now.

Of course, it is possible that it is not an intel card... especially if your laptop does not bear the centrino label. Open a terminal and enter

lspci

look for the line that talks about a wireless adapter, and copy it over to the forum.

OK - let me help... I think you meant to write:

"I don't know why. Please help me. Is there another option?"

Now you try.

lspci is one of the core linux utilities.

wheris lspci
... "whereis" should find any standard utility for you. You can execute the, now found, utility by typing in the full path.

And consider: why should anybody bother going the extra distance to help you when you cannot be bothered even so small a thing as to type whole words? While you're at it, do take a moment to modify your profile - show where your from. Your writing is so illiterate that I cannot tell.

Meanwhile, I'll point you at:

Without knowing which wireless card you have, I cannot possibly tell. However, AFAIK, Ubuntu has some support for common restricted drivers.

Ubuntu will boot from the CD into a live session before you install. If the wifi is supported out-of-the-box, you'll know right away. However, ubuntu also has easy access to many drivers.

You will still need to use lspci though.

BTW - edit your profile to show where you are from. I'm sure you don't want people to think you are a USA n00b... if you are from someplace where net access is frowned upon, or something like that, you don't need to be specific.

Linux User Groups in the Middle-East...
http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Softwa...s/Middle_East/
... there are lots of linux users across that whole area - depends where exactly you are.
