Hello there - I'm new to the forum and fairly new with Linux. I have RedHat 7.2 on a small HP box that I got from a friend. It has onboard LAN, so I am using the eth0 interface.
What I've got is an existing workgroup that are all connected to a Microsoft (spare me the insults, I bought it and the wireless card on clearance for $50) Wireless Base Station - MN700. Now, I'm trying to connect through eth0, but I cannot seem to get it up and running with DHCP. I know that on my Windows boxes, I've never been able to use static IP addresses and have it work right - it seems this router/base station is DHCP or nothing.
Maybe I'm just an idiot, but like I said - I'm VERY new with Linux. If you can give me instructions on how to configure eth0 to work with the base station so I can get on the net (I don't even need to see anything else in the network), I would GREATLY appreciate your help.
