no ip address using wireless nic
 
unable to receive ip address using:
1) eth1; device=cisco systems, 350 series wireless lan adapter;
2) ifstatus eth1: configuratiion=wlan-bus-pcmcia dhcpcd running; eth1: no ip address assigned (DHCP)
3) computer using: laptop=ibm thinkpad,pentium iii,
4) os=suse 9
5) server os=windows xp
6) recently took laptop to panera bread and had no problem connecting to the internet.

Maybe the network you're trying to connect to has no dhcp server?

Or maybe it has MAC-based filtering turned on, and you forgot to register your MAC with it.

Can you get an assigned address if you manually run dhclient or whatever the cammand would be in SUSE?
