Netgear WG111 Wireless USB Driver
Hi,
I have Fedora 5 installed on my Desktop recently.I am having a Netgear WG111 v2.0 wireless USB drive as my internet connection. Please let me know how to set up this driver and make it work. Can you please forward the links of setting up the wireless connection on fedora 5.Please let me know the installation steps. Regards, Sanjeev |
The best way I know is to use the 'ndiswrapper' kernel module. It comes with several distros I have tried. I have been successful with my Linksys USB wlan card.
Installation/configuration information can be found on sourceforge. It should have everything you need. |
Do "lspci -v" and if it lists an ethernet controller with the Atheros chipset, then please consider using madwifi. It is written for Linux, rather than simply enabling the Windows drivers that come with the card. The docs and a link to download for madwifi are at: http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs
One problem that I found with the madwifi docs was that they weren't emphatic enough about the need to issue an "iwpriv" for an encrypted (WEP, etc) connection. It's in there, but you might miss it. |
