netgear wg111 not working on sabayon


Hello all-

I am very new to Linux. I have just installed Sabayon on a IBM T41 laptop with a Netgear WG111 v.1 USB adapter. Well when I go into the network config it shows it there and it sees my network it just will not use it. then when I go into the terminal under root with the command lspci I get this.

If anyone could help me it would be great. I really would like to start using linux but I have to have wireless for net.

First see if it shows up with;

iwconfig
lets say it is eth1
now lets see if any other interface is up
Code:
ifconfig
lets say eth0 shows up
Code:
ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth1 up
iwconfig eth1 essid va721linux <-- put your essid
iwconfig eth1 key 1817161514 <-- put your key if you use one
dhcpcd eth1
ping www.google.com -c 3
something like that ...
