Netgear Model WG511T 108 Mbps Card
Hi,
How supposed is this card in Linux : - http://www.netgear.com/products/prod...asp?prodID=213 Regards Robert |
looks like an 802.11g card with some kind of enhancement to "double" the max speed, smells like Texas Instrument's PBCC enhancement to 802.11b which we have just now got over, my gut reaction is to stay far away from it...
|
It actually works quite well and gets up to 54Mb/s so far with the MadWifi drivers being used.

Moved to Wireless

Actually mad-driver returns code 13 (unsupported hardware) on my WG511T card. Its not the mad drivers fault but the propertary binary only release of something called 'hal'. I dont know much more at this stage, but I guess the chip manafacture released this or(?)

I take everything back, and shift directions.. If driver is downloaded from CVS, it works great =)
|
I use this card in my Windoze PC, and it works great with the router. No hiccups during gaming, and excellent security options.
I run a Linux box and would like for it to run the same card....got a link for those drivers? perhaps some suggestiosn for us simple SuSE users? Thanks!! :newbie: |
driver for the wg511t
damn netgear and not including .inf files on their cds!! makes it really hard to cheat with linuxant.
can someone tell me where to get the drivers to make this damn card work? preferably an rpm. what was that about CVS? |
