Netgear MA101 rev b doesnt do wep.
sigh, i feel hopeless.
i'm running redhat 9. I have a MA101 USB rev B. I downloaded one of the snapshots from the atmelwlan site, and i can't post a link to it but I believe that you all know where its located, if not, google. anyways, so I installed the drivers and I believe that they are finally interfacing with my card because it could see the access point when I turned wep off. Now wep is on again and all hell has broken loose. dhclient says the network is down and I can't go online. Nothing works, really. i edited both /tmp/.vnetrc and also /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/eth0 whatever. something weird happened. after the first time I installed it, the system changed the wlan card's position from wlan0 to eth0. This is weird and it might be causing the problem. Whenever I try and bring up the card using redhat-network-config, I get error 8B2A Error for wireless request "Set Encode". does fixing everything in linux take this long? ive spent at least 3 weeks trying to get this to work and it isnt. its so horrible that im thinking of putting windows 98 with the windows build of apache on it. |
That error looks like a iwconfig syntax error. Can you post your ifcfg-<intf>
file? |
