Netgear MA101 802.11b wireless adapter won't work in SUSE 10.0

Hi,
My name is Prasanna Mohanty, starting to install various Linux since last 2 months. I installed SUSE 10.0. This version of the Linux detects my Netgear MA101 wireless adapter but the wireless connection is never up.

I configured the SSID as PrWireless, default gateway as the Netgear router address. There is no encryption enabled, intentionally, but SUSE cribs that encryption is not enabled but accepts the above configurations. Ultimately the network connection is
not made.

What should I do more, or did not do?

Regards
/Prasanna

First, you could try "ifconfig (interface name) up" if it doesn't work, try "down" first

Second, you might try checking that the configuration is stored by opening and checking the interfaces file (/etc/network/interfaces I thnk, the best would be to find it using "locate interfaces")
