Need help to save wifi configuration

Hi all,
I have Mandriva 2007.0 and at one time had a wifi connection via my Madwifi drivers..It worked fine but i Had a very close lightning strike here in Florida( so whats new) and it fried my Router and wireless access point..Got another router and WAP and now could not connect..
I went to the (KDE) GUI control panel and went thru all the settings but it did not connect to the wireless but would connect to the ethernet when I plugged in a cable..
I use the athos chipset in my wireless PCI adapter and it works fine when I plug in another hard drive with Kubuntu installed but I want it to work in Mandriva..
So I read all I could and found these wonderful commands on this forum and tried them in a terminal as su# in this order.

ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig ath0 up
iwconfig ath0 essid (myessid entered)
iwconfig ath0 key (my 128bit hex code for WEP)
dhcpcd ath0
Ping www.google.com -c 3

It works fine and I can connect to the internet just fine and my network manager applet is also displayed like it did B4..
Heres the gotcha..When I reboot I loose all the configurations and so it evidently does not save the configurations...
So that is Finally my question...How can i save it as the GUI so far won't do it??
Sorry for the long post but I wanted to give as much information as possible..
Thank you for reading this,
jolphil

There should be a file in /etc - /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts or something like that - where you can store the settings.
