Question ndiswrapper not working for me

Hi everyone, I am not being able to make my wireless work on my laptop, I have a HP/Compaq NX6125 with a Broadcom Co. BCM4318 AirForce One 54g wireless adapter.

I installed Open Suse 10.2 and I am basically in the process of migrating from my W to Linux in my laptop. I am very new to Linux, so I am still learning the commands, etc. After the installation, wireless was not working at all. It was there on YaST, it gave me the option to connect to an existing wireless network, but it got stuck there.

So I check the web and saw many had this problem with the bcm43xx drivers, so I followed the steps on the wiki on how to install ndiswrapper and install the bcmwl5.inf driver. When I put the ndiswrapper -l command it tells me:

- bcmwl5 invalid driver!
bcmwl5 driver installed (alternate driver: bcm43xx)

With iwconfig I get:

lo no wireless extensions
eth0 no wireless extensions
sit0 no wireless extensions

Needless to say that ifconfig shows no wlan0. I have no idea what to do next as I follow all the steps to get ndiswrapper going, I even cross check with other tutorials and I am now just confused. On the wiki was another option for original drivers but the only went up to 11Mb/s, as they put there.

Please, any help will be great. I am thinking I messed up on the driver I downloaded hehehe.

Thanks for any help.

You have installed the wrong Windows driver, what is so hard to understand?????

For the 32-bit OS install the driver from here;
ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/note.../xp/80211g.zip

For the 64-bit OS install the driver from here;
ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/note...p64/80211g.zip

Remove the bad/wrong/not working driver;
ndiswrapper -e bcmwl5
After extracting the correct Windows driver from where the files reside;

ndiswrapper -i bcmwl5
maybe also;ndiswrapper -m

$ ndiswrapper -l
bcmwl5 : driver installed
device (14E4:4318) present (alternate driver: bcm43xx)
