Alright, i'm running slackware 10.0 and i just compiled kernel 2.6.8.1.
I'm running ndiswrapper with the drivers i got from dell's web site. It all seems to be working fine but this card is an a/b/g card it's defaulting to 802.11G. I am using a B ap here and i need to know how to tell it to use the B. Does anyone know how to do this? I've been searching all night and havn't found anything.
Does ANYBODY know how to make it look for B rather than G?? i have no idea how to do this and i haven't found any articles that refer to this problem either.
Well, i'm not even too sure now that that's my problem. Now it's saying that it's running 802.11a. that was a pretty random switch there. I just can't get it to see my ap. i do iwlist wlan0 scan and it doesn't find anything.
alright so i even tried linuxant and it still doesn't work!!! URGH!! i set the essid and even if i give it the ap mac it still doesn't work, it just wont' look on b it wants g.
man, so the only problem i had was i had to enable the card aparently... fn+f2 fixed my problem, it was in fact loading and so now that the card works it's all fine...
ndiswrapper uses the Windows drivers, since no Linux drivers exist for Broadcom cards. Follow the instructions at the ndiswrapper site, especially the wiki link and the README file. There are many, many previous ndiswrapper thread in this forum as well.
