Question Missing firmware for ipw2200 ???

Hello everybody,

The new version of DreamLinux 2.2.MMGL creates some problems with the wireless as well. I did all the steps included here:

http://www.epron.com.br/ingles/viewtopic.php?t=1111

In addition to this I also installed the Windows driver into the Ndiswrapper. It shows that the driver is installed and the hardware is present. I copied the firmware in the /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/ and that is what there is:

1.0.4.3.arm ipw-2.4-bss_ucode.fw zd1211-WS11Ub.fw
ipw2100-1.3.fw ipw-2.4-ibss.fw zd1211-WS11UPh.fw
ipw2100-1.3-i.fw ipw-2.4-ibss_ucode.fw zd1211-WS11UPhm.fw
ipw2100-1.3-p.fw ipw-2.4-sniffer.fw zd1211-WS11UPhR.fw
ipw-2.4-boot.fw ipw-2.4-sniffer_ucode.fw zd1211-WS11Ur.fw
ipw-2.4-bss.fw LICENSE

However, when I try the

# DMESG

this is what came out:

ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
ipw2200: ipw2200-bss.fw request_firmware failed: Reason -2
ipw2200: Unable to load firmware: -2
ipw2200: failed to register network device

I really don't know what to do. Please give me some advice where I could find the missing firmware and to install it. I am really stuck with this already third day.

Thank you in advance.

Greetings,

Stan

Its two different drivers, you need to stick with ndiswrapper or ipw2200 not both;
ipw2200;
http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/INSTALL
ndiswrapper;
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/j...iki/Itemid,33/
check
ifconfig -a
and
iwconfig
to see which one is loaded, I think the ipw2200 should work fine, you may have ndiswrapper loaded and you will need to remove it if you want to use ipw2200. ndiswrapper should show up as wlan0 so;
ifconfig wlan0 down
then follow a guide for 1pw2200, be sure to follow it Step by Step.
have fun ...
