I am trying to get my laptop to connect to my home wireless network. It used to work fine, but now the exact same settings don't work. However when I manually bring up the interface it does work.
Code:
#/etc/network/interfaces
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto wlan0
pre-up iwconfig wlan0 essid *** key 123456789A
address 192.168.1.101
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway router
Code:
# ifup wlan0
# ping router
PING router (192.168.1.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
From 192.168.1.101 icmp_seq=2 Destination Host Unreachable
etc...
Code:
# iwconfig wlan0 essid *** key 123456789A
# ifconfig wlan0 192.168.1.101 netmask 255.255.255.0
# route add default gw router
# ifconfig wlan0 up
# ping router
PING router (192.168.1.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from router (192.168.1.1): icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=3.12 ms
etc...
Any Ideas?
