MADWIFI : warning ... Wireless Extension ...
 

Hi all.

I have configured the "madwifi-ng" (last version).
When i configure it , I used this site : http://www.madwifi.net/

My system : Redhat EL 4 ES and kernel is 2.6.13
Wireless card is "Aterm WL54AG" wireless card.

After all, I have Warnning message :
Exp, when i use command "iwconfig or iwlist"

But wireless connection and AP ..... all OK.
I understand that, I need to change madwifi driver version, but I do not understand Wireless extension.

How can I solve this problem ?

You get that error when the wireless tools package from your distro and the wireless extensions version in the kernel get out of sync. I'm guessing that you recently upgraded your kernel and that causes this warning. The solution is to either find an updated RPM of the latest wireless tools or to download them from here and compile it yourself. Since you need extensions version 18 support, you'll have to use wireless tools version 28 (which is still in beta) to get this to work.
