M6505 Wireless Blues
I have an eMachines M6805 with a freshly installed version of Knoppix 3.6. I want to use my Wireless card in linux but I have been having some troubles with the ndiswrapper. When I installed the drivers that came with my machine, nothing becomes enabled. I ran iwconfig and got the following:
don@deadwin:~$ iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. eth1 no wireless extensions. sit0 no wireless extensions. when I run 'ndiswrapper -l' I get this: don@deadwin:~$ ndiswrapper -l Installed ndis drivers: bcmwl5 I believe eth1 to be my wireless adapter (I am sure eth0 is the wired 10/100), but I am relatively a newbie when it comes to linux, and expecially linux networking. Any help is greatly apprieciated. Thanks Don Bauer |
Did you run
modprobe ndiswrapper usually by default, ndiswrapper will refer to you wireless adapter as wlan0. |
