I purchased a Microsoft AP and MS pcmci card yesterday... (i know Im horrible... ms blah blah)
I read that the pcmcia cards use the broadcom chipset and that people have setup them up easily with ndiswrapper.
Im not having any luck so far... I am using Mandrake 10 w/ 2.6.3 kernel. I uninstalled ndiswrapper 0.4, and instaled from source ndiswrappr-0.7.
This is how far I get...
Code:
[root@mdklaptop wlan]# ndiswrapper -i /home/trey/wlan/bcmwl5.inf
Installing bcmwl5
[root@mdklaptop wlan]# ndiswrapper -l
Can't use string ("") as an ARRAY ref while "strict refs" in use at /usr/sbin/ndiswrapper line 324, <LS2> line 1.
I guess I am missing something.. I am following the instructions from ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net... does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong?? if it makes any diffrence.. I tried the driver on the MS disc mn720.. and i get the same output as above..
Thanks
Trey
EDIT: one last note... my pci device number does not match any of the numbers on the driver list at ndiswrappers site.. but I have still read that others have made it work with not problem.. the module number on the card is mn-720
