Question Looking for help to connect to internet with wireless connection


I am a new student to linux using fedora 8 and could use some help, trying to connest to internet,
Ran lspci command and came u with

You could do two different things... look into using ndiswrapper. It basically takes the Windows driver for your card and allows you to use it in Linux. Most of the time it works, there are small times where it doesn't.

Alternately, you could upgrade to Fedora 9. As newer versions come out, support gets better. In a little over a month, Fedora 10 is coming out.

ok, you were a bit unclear about your actual problem. please describe your problem in greater detail.

what i got out of lspci is that your network card is a broadcom BCM4309, right? fedora 8 no longer comes with broadcom driver, so you will have to get it from http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43

broadcom is a hard card to get working sometimes, if this gives you trouble, you can try ndiswrapper, but forget about that until you can't get the native driver working.
