i insert my linksys wpc11 version 3 card into the pcmcia slot on my dell latitude 3500 (i think thats the right model) and the lights turn on for about 5 seconds, then flash, and then about 3 or 4 seconds later jsut turn off... somehow i got the copmp to tell me it was timing out somehow, so im lost. on a side note, i ahve a dell truemible 1150 card im trying to make work in fedora core 2 on the same laptop... any help with that would also be appreciated... but anyways the linksys card has workled before for me, and worksa still on my newer dell windows xp pro laptop, so i dont hink its the card. and also my fedora core 2 laptop doesnt seem to recognize either card wehen i use the gui network config thingy to add a wireless conenciton, and under the other cards area, neither card is listed... i have also tried the hermes.conf fix thing, but no luck there either... please help me!

Did you install the drivers for your card? If you type in your card's name with linux in google you can find which driver it is. I don't have any idea how that driver works but once you've got it installed I can help getting the rest of your settings right.

One piece of advice: don't look at the GUI tools much. They seem to give pretty strange results and the command line is easier to use cause it gives error info and the like.

ok forget about the linksys card, what about the dell card?
