Linksys WPC11 2.5 PC Card + Fedora Core 1

I have recently installed Fedora Core 1 on my laptop and I am having some difficulty getting my Linksys Wireless card working.

I tried using the GUI Configuration tool, but my card doesnt seem to show up. Is there an "equivalent" that I should use? I have a Linksys WPC11 Ver. 2.5 PC card.

Ok, I just got mine to work in Fedora Core 1, so I think I can help you out. (I'm at work at the moment so I can't be to specific... I can elaborate more when I get home if need be...) First off, The Gui tool your using is the network interface configurator thing that is in gnome right?? I basically installed fedora while the card was already in the pcmcia slot and it seemed to associate the modules and everything to the proper config files for bootup. Then I logged in as root, pulled up the configurator and was able to get it working after fumbling around with the configurator. One thing that stumped me was the key for the WEP encryption. Because it is in that hex format, it need 0x<blah> where <blah> represents the actuall encryption key. Also, you will need to make sure your essid is given..... There also should be a way to create a new card in the configurator if it is not there. As far as kernel modules go, as I stated before it set that up for me but orinco_cs should be what you need. Hope this helps.... Hit me back if you need....

Thanks for the follow-up... I actually got mine working about 4-5 hours after my post....

The 2.5 version of the card wasn't listed in the /etc/pcmcia/config file. After some research, I found the applicable info and added it... I restarted pcmcia and voila, it found my card... I was up about 10 minutes after that...
