linksys WMP54GR won't connect under Ubuntu Fiesty 7.04

Hi All,

I'm dual booting Vista and Ubuntu 7.04. I'm using a Linksys WMP54GR wireless card (it works fine under Vista). My problem is I can view available wireless networks, but I can't connect to any. Whenever I click on a network it tries to connect but nothign happes.
I've search several websites and forums. I haven't been able to find a proper fix for this. I've heard a couple of horror stories about some drivers causing Ubuntu not boot. So I'm a little hesitant to experiment with drivers I know nothing about. I'm told that this card uses a Ralink Chipset.

Anyone able to get this model card working properly?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the exact same problem. I have even tried ndiswrapper and it still doesn't connect. For some reason the card is able to sniff the surrounding wireless connections, but when I try to connect it is unable to. I have tried everything I can think of. I have been trying to get this thing working since edgy first came out. I think I am going to have to replace it with an Intel card. Linksys makes great products, unfortunately they don't have any Linux support and are a pain in the ass to get working.

When I run iwconfig I get this output

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

ra1 RT61 Wireless ESSID:"linksys" Nickname:""
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.462 GHz Access Point: (mac address here)
Bit Rate=54 Mb/s
RTS thr: off Fragment thr: off
Link Quality=90/100 Signal level:-77 dBm Noise level:-72 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

Let me know if anyone comes up with a fix for this.

I couldn't find anything either, so I got rid of the Ubuntu. I'll prolly try it again once they have better driver support.
