KPPP and Motorola cell phone model T720

I have a Motorola T720 and I'm wondering if anyone is using KPPP with one of them.

Mine seems to not like KPPP. It looks like it might be trying to probe the modem and that is causing the phone to reset. The Query Modem function does the same thing as trying to make a connection.

I'm using a usb cable and the acm driver.

It works fine with wvdial using RedHat's Network Device Control GUI.

query modem resets it

I basically decided not to use kppp, it's much easier to use ifup anyway.

Basically on redhat it's setup by the Network Device Control GUI.
