iwconfig wlan0 ~ Segmentation Fault

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Finally got the wireless up, but can't set my WEP key.

# iwconfig wlan0 key 123456
Segmentation Fault.

Same thing happens when I try to configure it w/ system-config-network.

The wireless works beautifully without encryption, but as soon as I try to set the key, it segfaults.

any ideas?

Emachines m5312 Laptop
Fedora Core 2 ~ stock kernel (2.6.5-1.358)
BCM-94306 802.11g NIC module installed in the micro-PCI slot
ndiswrapper version 0.7

Thanks,

I am getting this same error using FC3. The wireless works fine as long as WEP is disabled. But whenever I try to set a key I get a segmentation fault and then have to manually reset the computer.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Hi folks,

Ahh, the good old segmentation fault. Now this puppy is what causes BSOD under Windows however all you get with linux is a message to tell you one has occurred. Okay its not ideal but its better than a complete system crash. So to fix I would recommend two things.
1. Upgrade ndiswrapper to the latest version 1.0 which seems pretty stable.
2. Check out kernels with 16k stack sizes available from
http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader.../downloads.php
and see if that helps.
Cheers
