Hello everyone,
I'm a relatively new Linux fan and a new member here on LQ.org.
My question actually is about something that another user shared here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...system-949236/
In his post, ZeroDaHero reports that he tried using a wireless N card (manufacturer: Rosewill, model: RNX-N250PC2, chipset: Atheros AR9287) in his system but that it would hang when the router was set to mixed WPA/WPA2 mode. It only worked when he set his router to solely WPA or WPA2. I am experiencing the same issue on my new Ubuntu 12.04(x64) machine. My question is, is there a fix or something to make this card work in dual mode? The router is my roommate's and he says he would like to keep it in mixed mode.
Update:
Alright, I figure out what was wrong. Apparently the kernel which came with the current Ubuntu 12.04 LTS had an issue with my wireless card. I was able to fix the problem by connecting to the Internet through my motherboard's Ethernet connection and download ubuntu updates, including the latest kernel. The wireless card seems to work flawlessly with the router in mixed mode now.
