internet works,can not ping router.

Hi
I have a slight problem my wireless laptop running ubuntu has an active internet connection. But i can not ping my router, can some one please explain how this is possible.I have a motorola wireless card using ndiswrapper 1.18 and i have had no problems with it what so ever for a long time,i simply restarted my laptop and had no idea there was a problem until i wanted to "ssh" to another computer i then realised i could not even ping my router. My connection to the internet has also slowed down a considerable amount. The error message is "Destination Host Unreachable".
Thanks nige

Did you enable a firewall on Ubuntu? This could explain the problem. It may also be worth a reset to your router to see if that changes anyting. Mine gets messed up once in a while, and I'm at a loss to explain the strange things, other than maybe a power spike. Usually a reset clears things up for me.

Beyond that, it may be time to look for any changed settings, posibly some software install???
