Interesting Wifi problem

So here is my problem. I have many pc's sitting at home. I use wifi for a few of them, 5 to be exact. 4 of them have the same exact wifi card (Linksys WMP54G) and 3 of the 4 run Ubuntu(Slackware is the 4th). I had to replace the hardrive in one of these pc's and reloaded Ubuntu. Everything is fine until I tried to get the Wifi up.

Now I couldn't get ndiswrapper 1.4 to install, but I found a cd with ndiswrapper 1.2(whats on the other 2 pc's). Installed ndiswrapper just fine, popped in the CD with my card's driver and now I get Invaild driver. This PC had ndiswrapper with the same driver running fine a few days ago. I have 2 pc's sitting right next to it that have the identical setup (minus some hardware).

Using Ubuntu Hoary

Any one have any ideas? Something I'm missing?

I reinstalled the OS and still same problem. I thought it might be a hardware issue, but installed SuSE 9.3(I like trying new distros :D ) and the card worked like a charm, same thing with Slackware 10.1. This is a development web server so I need it up and running but I wanted Ubuntu on it, to eventually move from FC3 to Ubuntu as a production server. I guess I'll just wait for breezy and see what that does. Just very annoying that it worked fine for quite awhile and then I reload the OS and change the HD and now it doesn't. Grr!

Sounds very weird, indeed. Try one of the cards from another box and see what gives.
