Intel Pro/Wireless 2915ABG setup help

Does anybody know where i can find a good guide to help me setup my wireless card for my notebook? I'm running Slackware 10.2 with KDE 3.4

it's an Intel Pro/Wireless 2915ABG

I'm a newb so the more explanitory the guide is the better.

To be honest i don't even know where to start to set it up, maybe i just have to run one config command but i don't know anything about wireless. it's not my regular area of concern, but i wanna learn.

This device uses the IPW2200 driver. Here is the homepage for this project. All you should have to do is install the driver.

Here is a good HowTo for installing the driver & framework. I know it is for Ubuntu and not Slackware, but the process should be very similar.

There are also a couple of good posts here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=417923
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=365072

Post any specific questions you have later (since you want to learn and not just have me tell you what to do).

Good Luck,
~Justin

I have the same card. Here are a few things to get you started.

This link is the home page for the driver for your card:
http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net
It has lots of useful info on kernel configuration options and installing and downloading the firmware that you'll need.
You may also need the ipw2200 driver if it is not included in your kernel. Download the firmware from:
http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/firmware.php
After that you'll need to configure the wireless settings, see following for more info:
http://www.slackbook.org/html/networ...-wireless.html
Hope this helps
