Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG + WPA in Ubuntu
First, I have to admit, I'm a Linux Newbie and don't know much about Linux or the Ubuntu distribution.
With that being said, the reason for my writing is to request help in configuring my wireless adapter in a laptop to connect to my LAN/Router/Gateway for internet access.
I'm running Ubuntu (Eggy) and have a Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG card. My router is set up with WPA+PSK 128bit encryption.
I've tried googling around for my specific problem but am unable to get anything to work. I'm afraid that there has been so many changes that there are probably conflicts in files/settings/applications which is causing it to get worse.
I don't even know where to begin to troubleshoot. I've heard that you have to download/compile/install firmware and/or drivers for my wifi card, edit /etc/network/interfaces file, download network-monitor-gnome or gtkwifi to help afterwards, something about a wpa_supplicant file, write a script for automatic logon, et.al...
Please help, anything you do is greatly appreciated.
