It was a full install. I don't think there is a bios on the eee.
I tried to put the rt3070sta driver on and the whole system crashed. So, I am now running again from the newly booted lupu501 and haven't installed it yet. I'll let you know more later.
... AFTER NOT THINKING THAT THERE WAS A WAY TO get into the BIOS I discovered one. Having then disabled the on-board NIC and WLAN, it seems to remember the settings of the External wireless adapter and works fine now.
