I need help setting up wireless networking on Debian
hey pple am new in the hood but i have this problem
i use the debian destro but am having problems using my wireless network...i lack drivers for my broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN card...but it works well on my windows partion....how can i wrap this driver to work in my linux partion.....i think am tired of windows....anybody help pliz |
Find the chipset on the card, and Google it with "Debian" (since you didn't give enough information I can't point you any further).

There are two driver choices for Broadcom cards: bcm43xx and NDISwrapper. bcm43xx is an open source, reverse-engineered driver. It requires firmware from the Windows driver for the card, which is extracted using the fwcutter tool. Most recent distros include it. Use apt-get to install it if not. Read the docs carefully to avoid mistakes. http://bcm43xx.berlios.de/ NDiswrapper uses the entire Windows driver. Use apt-get to install ndiswrapper, if it's not already installed.
