howto combine hard-ware (eth0) + wireless (eth1) ?

on my laptop, i plug in an ethernet cable when i'm at my desk and depend on wireless when i'm mobile. network applications use eth0, no problem, but how can it be configured to use eth1? can eth0 and eth1 be made to work transparently?

This script is executed only when the wireless device is brought up, so it works perfectly. Whenever I insert the Orinoco card, the integrated NIC is disabled.
