how to deal with a programm that scan the remote bluetooth(in linux)

Hello,
I,m programming to use a bluetooth dongle to scan the remote bluetooth dongle under linux .I have no ideas about it.

I have write a test that it can connect to the fixed bluetooth address .I have get the remote bluetooth address by other tools, and use it in my programme.

However, now,I want to programm to directly detect the remote bluetooth devices whose address I don't know.

How to programm my test?

thanks !

There is "hcitool" program which has "scan" parameter. I think you can use it to look up the names of needed functions. Of course, if you are writing an open source or non-distributed application, you can even reuse corresponding code fragments.
