How do I get mint to find my router.
 

How do I get mint to find my router. when I use a cable to connect to my router my laptop gets online right away but when I try to use wireless it will not work.

Try running lspci in a terminal and look in the output for your wireless chip, then post the output here, along with the make/model of your computer and the version of Mint.

You need to get the Broadcom wireless drivers.

Connect up via cable, go to add/remove software item, and look for a heading called "Repositories." Make sure the one for restricted drivers is enabled, then look for Broadcom drivers.

Searching LQ for "Broadcom Mint" will turn up a lot more.

If that Ununtu 9.04 reference is correcct, you'd be better off upgrading Mint to release 10.
Then you should be able to get the correct driver (almost) automatically via proprietary drivers.
