(home networking problem) (can see all computers on network includeing wireless)

ok i have been trying to setup a network with out useing the command lines lol just to see how effective it is now i have been able to get all computers seen on the network it goes like this( internet connected to the houseb--> to wireless/wired router--> two ports go to the server--> port three goes to the second wired computer--> port four is unused inless i need a wirless laptop wired to download somthing since netowrk isnt working) thats how its configured now each computer has name they all have their own ip address their static not dhcp. i have debian 4.0 all up to date the laptops are currently windows now i can see the network with windows but need a password to get in and no pasword and username i give doesnt work thats problem one. problem two is the linux machines to see the machines tho when you go to a machine other than it self it says couldnt dispaly any files or folders. on the other hand i have been trying to setup groups and user groups for individual users so that only certain users can acess certain things. now it saysing i cant acess it cuz im not root but in the debian i cant log into root other then in terminal i wad wonder if there were easy solutions to these problems with out going into terminal.

Hmmmmm,
Quote:
now it saysing i cant acess it cuz
I notice you are having trouble spelling

Quote:
it says couldnt dispaly any files
and using punctuation

Quote:
i have been trying to setup groups
and understanding the use of upper case

Quote:
and no pasword and username i give doesnt work thats problem
and the obfuscation that double negatives introduce.

Perhaps you could re-read your post, cut out the ramblings and post a rational question that we have a chance of being able to answer.
