Question

First, your best bet when looking for help with anything, expecially linux, is to google search for it. Thats how I found this thread.
I found a lot of info about the wireless adapter on a USB port. I have one too and thought it was going to work "out of the box". But no. I think we are going to have to find patches for the kernel and build a new kernel. I don't look forward to that. Never done it.

OK, you need to communicate a little more clearly. What was "jibberish"? That's kind of rude as well, but I wont take it personally. Do you know how to Google? patch? build a kernel?

I found some good doc on www.linux-wlan.org/docs, but I have not been able to try it out yet. First we have to make sure the wu830g is supported in linux. BTW, what release of linux are you running? Are you opposed to using SUSE or RedHat??

I didn't mean anything personally i just meant building a kernel and patching is jibberish to me.
I am running Mandriva Linux 2006. I will go check out the site you posted but as for yahooing or googleing i wouldn't know what to search for... i know the chipset is envara wind502u, but envara is no longer around so that is about as far as i got. I uninstalled ndiswrapper and tried reinstalling a new version and got bunch of errors when i try to setup the actual wireless connection. can you post attatchments here??? if not refer to my other postings at http://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtopic=28885
