I am a bit confused, I just installed Fedora for the first time, dual booting with Windows. It's a bit of a shock from windows, but I know I'll be able to figure it out sooner or later, hopefully. The main and biggest problem I am having is connecting to my Dlink router with an intel 2100 card. I'm a complete Linux newb, so any really simple steps would be more that appreciated. And sorry if this has been asked a number of times before.
Is it recognized if you open system-config-network?
Which type of encryption do you use?
Do you want a qui to configure it or is cli okay?
I fact that you missed which Version of Fedora your running I suppose the latest and that would be
FC6.(zod) so. You just visit rpm.livna.org and add it to your repos.
then you can issue the command yum as root on a console to get the ipw2100 firmware and then your Intel2100 card will be recognized as wireless adapter and not anymore as an ethernet Interface.
No, its not recognized in the network menus as far as I can tell, and the router encryption is WPA-PSK. Everything that was said after that I spaced on totally, but thanks heaps though, I'll google my way through the lingo.
