HELP! I cant connect to the internet

I am new to the Linux Operating system. I just got wireless internet and I cant figure out how to connect to the network. I have a wireless router, the box says Ultraline Series 3 Model 9100EM. I think the Linux version is Linux Mint 7 "Gloria" 32 bit.

Welcome!!

First, please change your thread title to be something descriptive. (Click on edit, and then go to advanced mode)

As for your question, we need to know more details about your hardware--particularly what make and model of wireless adapter--, what version of Linux, and how your internet connnection is set up---eg static or dynamic IP?, do you have a router?, cable or DSL?, etc.

To jump ahead one step, open a terminal and run "ifconfig -a". Look for something like wlan0 or eth1--something with a different MAC address from your regular ethernet. Also run "iwconfig" and see if it finds a wireless device.

Juan;

I almost missed this. Please put new information in a reply---when you just edit the original post, it looks like you have not responded. (I only noticed it because you chagned the title.)

Please post a reply which addresses ALL of my questions in the reply above. Also, I did not specifically ask if your internet connection is working with a regular wired connection (ethernet).

Your gave the info on your router, but we also need to know about the wireless adapter in the computer.
